Server-based local workspace mappings need to go. Server shouldn't care about my local workspace.
One of the biggest problems I've always had with TFS is that it concerns itself with server-based workspace mappings. A version control "server" shouldn't care about where my local workspace is mapped to. Let the client/user take care of that.

Make Reverting Files Easier to do
In Subversion, Reverting a file is two clicks (Right click "Revert", and "ok"). In TFS, it's an arduous process that makes me want to puke. ( http://msmvps.com/blogs/vstsblog/archive/2009/01/10/how-to-revert-changes-checked-into-tfs-version-control.aspx ) Power Tools to do something so simple? Come on. Some corporations have tightly control installed processes. This should really be included 'in the box'.

View History for Branched Files
Be able to view history on a file that includes history from wherever it was branched from. A la old SourceSafe functionality with view history showing history from branch and share etc.

Make performance diagnostics easier for small teams
Performance is a huge complaint with TFS. It needs to be dead simple to diagnose performance issues and resolve them.

View file history while comparing folder/branch
When doing a compare to see "what has changed" you have to right-click each file and select "View History" to see who checked in changes and any comments.
Please make a "Selected file history" view/tab that can be visible while the "Folder Diff" (and maybe others) is visible and will automatically update when a new file is selected.3 votes -
